Cape Fear Community College is pleased to announce that Dr. Mary Ellen Naylor has been selected as Dean of Health Sciences.
Naylor is originally from West Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later earned a Master of Health Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Doctorate of Education in Leadership in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Naylor has been with CFCC since 2003. She first began as a dental hygiene instructor but would eventually serve as program director for the program and department chair for Allied Health. Naylor has also served as the chair of the college’s Curriculum Committee.
“I am excited for the opportunity to continue my leadership here at CFCC as Dean of Health Sciences. We have strong health sciences programs staffed with excellent faculty who promote student success and prepare our graduates to enter their chosen profession to meet the healthcare needs of our community,” said Naylor. “I look forward to maintaining the excellence of our programs, continuing our commitment to students, and growing our collaboration with community partners to respond to the changing healthcare needs in our area.”

Cape Fear Community College’s Health Science programs include: Associate Degree Nursing (RN), Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Cardiovascular Sonography, Early Childhood Education, Medical Sonography, Nurse Aide/Phlebotomy, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Pharmacy Technology, Practical Nursing (PN), Radiography, Surgical Technology, Medical Assisting, and Human Services Technology: Substance Abuse.
