Cape Fear Community College is committed to providing comprehensive quality educational opportunities and also strives to provide activities that enhance the social, cultural, economic, and leadership development of a diverse student body.

Student Activities may encompass clubs, the Student Government Association, intramural sports, student publications, and intercollegiate athletics. All student activities are administered through the Department of Student Activities and Athletics.

The goals of the Student Activities Office are to provide a variety of activities, accommodate student diversity in backgrounds, abilities, interest, and career goals; enhance academic success; and promote diplomacy, unity, self-discipline, physical and emotional well-being and leadership skills.

Student Government Association


 CFCC Athletics

Cape Fear Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA)-Division I and Division II, competing in the Carolinas Junior College Conference (Region X). CFCC has several eligibility sports that include basketball, volleyball, golf, soccer, and cheerleading. Students participating in intercollegiate athletics must meet NJCAA eligibility requirements and standards. Individuals participating in college athletics must be currently enrolled and be in good standing. The goals and objectives of intercollegiate athletics and Intramural activities are listed below:


  • To enhance academic success of student athletes
  • To provide opportunities for participation in competitive college sports
  • To promote the development of self discipline and leadership skills


  • Monitor the academic grade point average of collegiate student athletes
  • Develop and monitor sports activities based on student interest as gleaned from Student Interest surveys and participation
  • Monitor the retention and graduation rates of student athletes
