President’s Report:

Jamir advised the delegation that the D.C. Virgo Students will hopefully be attending our April meeting. There are some logistical issues that must be worked out. He announced that the Nuclear Technology Club is coming! They have submitted their paperwork to Student Activities for approval. We will need volunteers for Works on Wilmington, Saturday, April 20, 2013. Times and location will be announced. Jamir also urged any clubs and organizations that wish to present at the General Assembly Meetings to contact Courtney Hull to be added to the agenda. She may be reached at cdhull685@mail.cfcc.edu.

Vice-President’s Report:

Gary J advised the delegation that the Jeans for Teens event was a great success. In just one short week their team collected 95 pairs of Jeans to be donated to Aeropostale. The store donated a new pair to a teen in need for each pair they collected. While the event is closed, we are still collecting Jeans as they can be used next year.

Secretary’s Report:

Courtney offered an update to the “Green Initiative” to the delegation. Meeting are in place and hopefully some changes are in the works soon! She also spoke briefly about the Eastern Division Meeting coming up. Students were allowed to bring forward any issues that they would like the SGA to advocate. None were received.

Treasurer’s Report:

Rebecca gave an update about hand sanitizers on campus. We need volunteers to inventory the pumps on campus. We need a running tally of how many there are and what condition they are in. Trevor Todd volunteered to handle the North Campus. We still need help with the Downtown Campus. Contact Courtney at cdhull685@mail.cfcc.edu if you can be of assistance. It appears that the drop/add policy will not make the final cut. There is a lot of support from students and faculty so we will continue to advocate for this cause. The revised attendance policy for Student Veterans has gained a lot of support as well. They are aiming to have the policy in place for the fall term.

Azalea Festival:

Alison and Jordan from the NC Azalea Festival Committee joined us to discuss CFCC’s role in this year’s festivities. Volunteers are needed in various roles throughout the Festival. Please see Courtney if you are interested in volunteering or you may visit www.ncazaleafestival.org or call 910.794.4650 for more information.

Cape Fear Literacy Council:

Yasmin Tomkinson spoke to the delegation about the need for literacy. The Cape Fear Literacy Council offers assistance in reading, writing, and math skills to citizens in our community. They are always looking for committed volunteers to help out. Please visit cfliteracy.org for more information.

Spring Fling:

The dates for Spring Fling have been changed. Downtown will celebrate on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 11-2 in Tabitha’s Courtyard. North Campus will celebrate Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 11-2 in the Courtyard behind the McKeithan Center. This is a great event to advertise and recruit for your organization. Any club or organizations wanting to have a table for one or both events, please contact Courtney at cdhull685@mail.cfcc.edu. Please keep in mind that all tables must be supervised throughout the event.

New Business:
