CFCC offers many services to our students. From the Learning Lab, and Library, to the Career Connections Job Board and Bookstore, we strive to make our students’ lives easier and more productive.

Student Success

Academic Advising Center

Academic advising is a process in which students seek and receive guidance with academic program planning and course selection from an assigned faculty advisor.

Career Services

The mission of Career Services is to encourage and assist students and graduates in the continuous process of career planning, career decision-making, planning for marketability and job search.

Counseling Services

The Counseling Services Staff is dedicated to providing current and prospective students with an enriching college experience whether you are a full-time or part-time student.

Disability Services

The main office of Disability Support Services is located in Room U-218 in the Union Station Building at the Wilmington Campus.

Financial Aid

To determine financial need, students must first apply for financial aid. Many students / families mistakenly think they do not qualify for aid. There are a few sources of aid, such as Unsubsidized and PLUS loans that are available regardless of need.

Registration and Records

The Records/Registration Office assists students with registration, and dropping or adding classes. We also issue official transcripts, and process enrollment verifications, applications for graduation (on WebAdvisor), and address or name changes

Testing Services

Testing Services manages the placement entry assessment program, administers GED testing for Continuing Education, and the Psychological Service Bureau (PSB) test for students applying for certain Health Science programs at CFCC.

Additional Resources

Learning Resource Center (Library)

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is CFCC’s Library. Students are able to check out books and videos, study, perform research, and browse periodicals. The LRC is also home to the TV Studio.

Minority Male Mentoring Initiative

The Minority Male Mentoring (3M) Leadership Initiative Program is designed to provide strategies aimed to improve the retention and transition of minority males into college level coursework.

Office of Student Affairs and Student Safety

The mission of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is to offer a student centered, holistic approach to overall student development and empower the Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) student to develop competencies which will ensure academic success and ultimately serve long term educational and career aspirations.
